Old blue jeans accumulate in closets faster than almost any other garment. Instead of discarding your worn-out jeans, harvest the pockets and belt loops to create a practical, stylish wall-mounted organizer for your office, craft room, or entryway.
Start by cutting the back pockets and various smaller pockets away from the body of the jeans, making sure to leave a generous margin of fabric around the edges so the pockets do not fray. Next, acquire a sturdy backing material, such as a piece of burlap, canvas, a heavy placemat, or a wooden board. Arrange the harvested denim pockets across the backing material in an aesthetically pleasing grid pattern. You can attach the pockets permanently using a heavy-duty fabric glue or by stitching them securely with a sewing machine. Add metal grommets to the top corners of your backing material so you can hang the organizer easily on a wall hook.
