5. Pom Pom Garland: Festive and Fun

5
A pom pom garland is a cheerful way to decorate a child’s room, a party space, or even a classroom. This project is great for group crafting, as kids can each make a few pom poms to contribute to the final piece. String the pom poms onto a piece of yarn, twine, or ribbon, spacing them evenly. For extra flair, alternate colors or sizes, or add other elements like felt shapes or beads.

Materials: Yarn in various colors, pom pom maker, scissors, string/twine/ribbon, needle (optional for threading).

Time: 30–60 minutes (depending on the length of the garland).

Difficulty: Easy.

For a holiday-themed garland, use red, green, and white pom poms for Christmas, or pastels for Easter. A rainbow garland is always a hit, as is a ombré effect using shades of the same color. Hang the garland above a bed, along a staircase, or even outdoors for a garden party.

Customization: Add small bells, tassels, or wooden beads between the pom poms for extra texture and sound.
