2. Scented Wax Melts

Wax melts are a smart companion product to candles. They use the same wax but skip the wick, jar, and curing time, which means you can produce dozens of melts in a single afternoon. They’re also safer for households with kids or pets, and that peace of mind appeals to many buyers.
You’ll need the same soy wax and fragrance oils as candle making, plus silicone molds in shapes like hearts, flowers, cubes, or seasonal icons. The process is nearly identical to candle making, except you pour the scented wax into the molds and pop them out once solid. A single batch of wax can fill several molds, and you can package six to eight melts in a small kraft bag or clear cello sleeve.
Each batch takes about an hour, including melting, pouring, and setting. Difficulty is comparable to candle making, but cleanup is even easier. Mixing fragrances into layered or marbled melts creates visual interest, and labeling each one with a throw-strength note (light, medium, strong) helps customers choose.
💡 Pro Tip: Clamshell molds are the most popular with buyers because they’re easy to open and pop out one melt at a time. They also stack neatly for shipping and shelf display.
