7. Charming Origami Butterfly
Transform ordinary square sheets into delicate winged creatures that look as though they have just fluttered down to rest on your desk. A charming paper butterfly is a versatile decoration that can be pinned to bulletin boards, glued to gift packages, or arranged in a stunning wall art display. Begin with a square piece of paper, colored side up, and fold it in half horizontally and vertically, then diagonally in both directions, unfolding after each crease to establish a complete structural framework. Collapse the paper inward along the diagonal creases to form a smaller triangle base, similar to the preliminary steps of the crane. Fold the top layer of the bottom point upward so it extends slightly past the top edge of the triangle, exposing a small tip. Flip the entire model over and fold that protruding tip down over the top edge, pressing firmly to create a small anchoring tab. Fold the entire butterfly in half vertically to bring the wings together, then gently open them back out while adjusting the central body crease to give the wings a realistic, three-dimensional lift.
