4. Mason Jar Wall Organizer

Mason jars have a way of making even the most mundane items look charming, and they’re surprisingly useful in a small bathroom. Mounted on a wooden board, they become a catch-all for cotton swabs, cotton balls, hair ties, makeup brushes, and small toiletries. The clear glass means you can see everything at a glance, and the uniform shape keeps the display neat and tidy.

To build this organizer, you’ll need a piece of reclaimed wood or a pine board about twenty-four inches long, four to six small mason jars, hose clamps in the appropriate size, screws, a drill, and a few wall anchors. Stain or paint the board to match your bathroom palette. The whole project takes around two hours and costs roughly twenty-five dollars.

Cut the board to size and sand it smooth. Attach the hose clamps to the board where you want each jar to sit, leaving enough space between jars for easy access. Tighten the clamps around the jars to hold them securely. Then mount the entire board to the wall using anchors rated for at least ten pounds.

To make the jars removable for cleaning, slightly loosen the clamps when you need to empty them. You can also drill small drainage holes in the bottom of each jar if you plan to use them to hold fresh flowers or small succulents.

This project is a wonderful way to use leftover wood from a previous build. Reclaimed barn wood, old fence boards, or even a wooden cutting board that has seen better days can be repurposed into a stunning wall piece. The character of the wood adds warmth to the bathroom and makes the organizer feel one-of-a-kind.

A common mistake is choosing jars that are too large. Pint-sized mason jars are usually the perfect size for bathroom storage, while quart-sized jars can look bulky on the wall. Also, mount the board high enough that the jars don’t get splashed during sink use, and consider adding a small piece of clear silicone inside each clamp to keep the glass from rattling.

💡 Pro Tip: Paint the inside back of each jar with a soft pastel color for a subtle pop of personality. The tinted glass will glow gently when the bathroom light hits it.
