9. Tiered Tray Counter Organizer

A two- or three-tiered tray on the bathroom counter is a stylish way to corral the small items that tend to migrate across the sink. Trays keep similar items grouped together, and the tiered design means you can see everything at a glance without stacking things on top of each other. It’s a simple addition that makes a big visual impact.
You can buy tiered trays in materials ranging from ceramic and glass to galvanized metal and wood. A two-tiered round tray is a classic choice, but rectangular trays fit better on narrow counters. Many home decor stores also sell small tiered stands designed specifically for bathroom use, with compartments for cotton balls, swabs, and jewelry.
For a DIY version, you can stack two wooden cake stands with a dowel rod through the center, or use two cutting boards of different sizes with small wooden spindles between them. Paint the whole piece in a coordinating color, or stain the wood for a more natural look. The DIY version takes about an hour and costs around fifteen dollars.
This idea is one of the easiest on the list, with no drilling, mounting, or major tools required. Just place the tray on the counter and start arranging. The only real decision is what to put on each tier.
Use the top tier for the items you reach for most often, like hand soap, a daily moisturizer, or a favorite candle. The middle tier can hold a small dish for jewelry or hair ties. The bottom tier works well for taller items like lotion bottles, perfume, or a small vase of fresh flowers.
A common mistake is choosing a tray that’s too large for the counter. Measure your available space and aim for a tray that takes up no more than two-thirds of the counter width. Also, choose a tray with a non-slip base or add small rubber feet to prevent it from sliding when you grab items quickly.
