8. Cork-Wrapped Vases or Jars

Transform plain glass vases or jars into textured, boho-chic decor with wine corks. This project is incredibly versatile—use it to hold fresh flowers, store utensils in the kitchen, or organize bathroom essentials. The corks add a cozy, organic feel to any space.
Materials: Glass vase or jar, wine corks, hot glue gun, craft knife, and twine or ribbon (optional).
Instructions: Clean and dry your vase or jar thoroughly. Decide whether you want to cover the entire surface or just a portion (e.g., the bottom half). Slice the corks lengthwise into thin strips to make them more flexible. Start at the base of the vase and glue the cork strips vertically, wrapping them around the glass. Press firmly to ensure a tight fit. For a finished look, tie a piece of twine or ribbon around the top or bottom of the vase.
Time: 1–2 hours
Difficulty: Intermediate (slicing corks evenly takes practice)
Customization: Mix in painted cork strips for a patterned effect. For a rustic touch, leave some of the glass exposed.
Display Suggestion: Use it as a centerpiece on your dining table or as a pen holder on your desk.
💡 Pro Tip: If the corks aren’t bending easily, soak them in warm water for a few minutes to make them more pliable.
