6. Book Page Paper Stars

If you have an old novel that nobody is going to read again, it has a second life as a star garland. Cut the pages into strips of equal width — about half an inch — and fold each strip into a five-point star, tucking the ends into the folds of the previous strip to lock the shape. A dab of glue at the final joint keeps it secure.
Each star takes under ten minutes once you get the rhythm, and the slightly yellowed paper gives them a vintage, soft look that pairs beautifully with twine and warm white lights. Sheet music, brown kraft paper, or newsprint works just as well.
💡 Pro Tip: Make a few stars in a metallic cardstock to sprinkle through the garland — the mix of matte paper and shine keeps it from looking flat.
String them across a window, hang individual stars from curtain rods with fishing line, or pile them in a shallow bowl as a coffee table accent.
