3. Flower and Bee Egg Carton Garden

3
Bring the outdoors inside with this charming garden scene. Kids will love creating a mini ecosystem where their egg carton bees can “pollinate” paper flowers.

Materials: Cardboard egg carton, yellow, black, and green paint, pipe cleaners, googly eyes, colored cardstock, glue, scissors, popsicle sticks.

Instructions: Make 2–3 bees using the egg carton cups. For the flowers, cut petal shapes from colored cardstock and glue them to the top of popsicle sticks. Add a yellow or orange center to each flower. Arrange the flowers in a small pot or box, and let the bees “land” on them. You can also create green pipe cleaner stems and leaves for extra detail.

Time: 45–60 minutes

Difficulty: Easy

This craft doubles as a great way to teach kids about how bees help flowers grow. For a 3D effect, attach the flowers to a foam board or cardboard base.
