4. Egg Carton Bee Puppets
Puppets are a fantastic way to combine crafting with imaginative play. These egg carton bee puppets are sturdy, easy to make, and perfect for little hands to manipulate.
Materials: Cardboard egg carton, yellow and black paint, googly eyes, pipe cleaners, glue, scissors, popsicle stick (for the handle).
Instructions: Cut individual egg carton cups and paint them yellow with black stripes. Glue on googly eyes and pipe cleaner antennae. Once dry, attach a popsicle stick to the bottom of the cup with glue or tape. Let your child use the puppet to “fly” around and interact with other puppets or a homemade flower garden.
Time: 30 minutes (plus drying time)
Difficulty: Easy
To make the puppets more durable, consider reinforcing the popsicle stick with extra glue or tape.
